Pro1/3 Offset
A subtler offset than running bond. The modern wood-plank look.
When to use
Each row shifts by one-third of a tile rather than one-half, producing a longer, more architectural staircase. The go-to layout for wood-look plank tile and large-format rectangles, where a half-offset can look dated or accentuate bowing in the tile. Plan for a few more cuts than running bond.
Recommended tile sizes
Long rectangles 1:3 or more — 6"×24", 8"×36", 9"×48" plank tile. Half-offset is more flattering for shorter rectangles like 3"×6" subway.
Typical waste
Budget around 15% extra tile when ordering. The planner uses this as the default when you compute boxes-needed — override per project if your installer is more or less efficient.
