How to plan a tile layout in three steps

    Step one

    Enter your room and tile dimensions

    Type the room length and width — square feet or square meters, your call — then drop in the tile size in inches or centimetres. A units toggle flips between imperial and metric without losing your numbers. Set the grout width and TilePlan Pro centres the grid so the perimeter cuts land evenly on both sides.

    Choose from 14 tile patterns

    Pick a tile pattern from the catalog: running bond, herringbone, chevron, basket weave, Versailles parquet, mosaic pinwheel, and diagonal are the most-used, with 14 in total. The pattern picker shows a live preview thumbnail of each layout against your actual room dimensions — swap patterns and the scaled diagram redraws in milliseconds.

    The calculator outputs a full tile count, a deduplicated cut list with exact dimensions for every partial tile, and a box count rounded up with the pattern's typical waste percentage.
