ProMosaic (Pinwheel)
Pinwheels of small squares around a larger central tile.
When to use
Four small square tiles surround each side of a larger tile, forming repeating pinwheels (sometimes called the Hopscotch pattern). Decorative without being chaotic, and a smart way to combine accent tiles — use a stone or contrast color for the small squares. Great for bathroom floors and shower niches.
Recommended tile sizes
Strict 2:1 primary tile — 6"×12", 4"×8". The renderer derives the small accent squares automatically from the short edge (so 6"×12" produces 6"×6" accents). Pick a complementary tile for the accent color in the Color panel.
History
The pinwheel layout dates back to Roman mosaic floors, where small contrasting stones were set around a larger central piece to draw the eye. The version used here is the modern square-and-rectangle simplification popular in early-20th-century American bathrooms and revived heavily in current spa-bathroom design.
Typical waste
Budget around 18% extra tile when ordering. The planner uses this as the default when you compute boxes-needed — override per project if your installer is more or less efficient.
